KGPT rename

So I have decided to rename the KGPT (Kaitora Get Paid To script) to the KRS (Kaitora Rewards Script). This is to avoid confusion as to the intentions of the script.
The script is coming along nicely (after a little more motivation delay). The template class and database class have been written, and the redesigned database is currently being planned.

Rebuilding KGPT from scratch

So recently I have been working in Java, and OOP (object orientated programming) has become more of a standard for me. Due to this, I am rewriting the KGPT with a better template system, and writing it from an OOP standard.

The main benefit of this, will be that I am able to incorporate extra features, and rewrite the code to be more efficient than before. Not only this, but I will be utilising the ability to incorporate plugins (which will be released periodically from the first official release of the KGPT)

It’s been a while since I have used my PHP skills to create things (due to a focus on working on Android development), but I am soon to return to development of useful tools. Plans to work on some unfinished projects will be resumed soon.

Update

So things have been a little hectic lately. I’ve been very lax with updates to anything, aswell as organising the software on my new hardware. I’m still searching for a good price on the Adobe suite, but in the mean time I have been taking an interest into Android development, after a book purchase from Amazon.

Even though I haven’t provided any updates lately, doesn’t mean I shall not be updating any of my plugins or creations, just that I have encountered a delay. The first update will be a long awaited update to the Easy Image Share plugin for WordPress to enable the use of the plugin for multiple images.

Hopefully I will be able to post more details soon, but for now I wanted to post on here to remind people that I am still around

Finally new hardware

So a few days ago I finally updated my hardware, and got a laptop to replace my pc. Finally I have hardware that is more stable, I am able to branch out to Android development aswell as php development.

Kaitora Get Paid To revival

So I have began to work on work on the kgpt script once again. I have began to continue where I left off, and I am currently working on the MyCoupon automated system. This will allow admins to add coupon codes that will automatically add to prize counts, and can be instantly redeemed by the site participants.

Following this, I will be rewriting some of the admin pages to fix minor bugs and to work in harmony with newly planned additions.

Realisation

So I spent a few hours yesterday, browsing through some of my old projects aswell as some unfinished projects, and it brought some realisation.

After the next update to Easy Image Share plugin, I shall begin to complete some of my old projects, especially the KGPT script. I shall finish off what was unfinished, and then proceed to rewrite the project, to include better theming capabilities and ajax features.

Aswell as the above, we shall soon be taking requests for both WordPress and MyBB plugins.

A bit more diversity

It’s always good to learn new things, and since we released a new forum as of late, we’ve decided to have a go at our first MyBB plugin. This plugin will be of users who utilise the Newpoints plugin (though we will make it more compatible with future updates). More details will be announced with the imminent release of the plugin, since it is being made within whatever spare time available.

Kaitora Affiliate 1.2 release today

The kaitora affiliate system plugin has just been upgraded to 1.2, and with this, you can now have a custom word for your out URL. The plugin has been tested up to 3.1. Future planned versions of this plugin will include an AJAX submission of keywords to replace, aswell as better statistics

Kaitora Affiliate Update

So we’ve just put up a quick update of the Kaitora Affiliate System to rewrite the URL’s to a more friendly looking output. Right now, it only rewrites it to /out/[keyword], but plans for the next update will allow a custom structure e.g /[myword]/[keyword]. We hope this will improve click throughs, aswell as making it more aesthetically pleasing. Future plans to this plugin also include a more detailed statistics for the admin.

In other news, we have now updated our testing/design computers to have wordpress 3.1 on Xampp.
