Right now, it only rewrites it to /out/[keyword], but plans for the next update will allow a custom structure e.g /[myword]/[keyword]. We hope this will improve click throughs, aswell as making it more aesthetically pleasing. Future plans to this plugin also include a more detailed statistics for the admin.

In other news, we have now updated our testing/design computers to have wordpress 3.1 on Xampp.

The KGPT, has temporarily been placed on the back burners, after taking on a project for a friend. The project will be available as a wordpress plugin. It’s function is to find and replace keywords with affiliate links. This is a plugin I will be releasing with updates, since the initial requirements, make it a pretty basic plugin to start with, so I will be continuing to add new features etc to it.

The initial release will feature the ability to add keywords (each will correspond to it’s own URL). The admin allows the ability to set max replacements, enable/disable the plugin and the ability to view the number of times each keyword has been clicked.

The plugin is almost complete, with only the keyword search and replace functions to be added.

Ever wanted to make it easier for people to share your images around the internet, well with this simple plugin, it’s now got so much easier. Easy Image Share checks your post for any images you have included, and then appends some text areas to the end of your post.

Currently, it provides HTML and BB code. The plugin works instantly from activation, and automatically grabs the image URL if an image exists in the post. Should an image not exist, the plugin won’t affect a post.

This plugin has now been given a quick update. It now changes the URL displayed in the textarea to the current page, and automatically selects the text when you click in the textarea.

Following a recent update, the plugin now has it’s own settings in the admin section, whereby you can choose to disable specific textarea’s if you only wish to display HTML or BB code, but it can also be used to turn off both textareas.

As of version 1.4, you can now disable the plugin on certain posts and pages simply by adding &#91stop-eis&#93 to your post.

An example of the plugin in use can be found HERE

Download the plugin HERE

We feel we finally have a decent grasp of the whole MyBB system, we feel ready enough to announce some of our first planned plugins. Please be aware this is not a definite list, just plans for some we feel we are able enough to create at this moment in time. The current list stands as:

Minimum post count to use [URL] mycode

Paypal donation with a graphical target button

Hide from guest mycode

An army/rpg battle system

Newsletter system with opt in for guests

Link exchange system

These are just a few of our current ideas, there are currently more, but we want them to be a surprise to you. We will be starting with some of the more simple plugins for now, and then heading onto the bigger plugins when we gain more confidence in our ability to create plugins. Please be aware these plugins are currently being created for MyBB version 1.4.x, but we are aware of the upcoming 1.6 release.

So we’ve ran a few MyBB sites, and we still have one running, and coupling that with our knowledge of PHP, MySQL and some AJAX, we are taking the leap into creating some plugins. So after a bit of investigation work, we’ve learnt as much as we need to start with some plugins.

It will however be a short period of time before anything is released or is visible, and we intend to start with something small firstm just to ease us into the whole thing. However, when we’re move comfortable with it, we shall be heading onto more adventurous plugins, and extensions to some plugins that already exist.

If you have any ideas for some plugins you’d like to see, you can either PM us on MyBB Central (username Kaitora) or you can leave us a comment on this post, untill we set up the contact form and support forums.
